Technivorm and Kone Filter
« on: February 15, 2017, 01:17:54 PM »

Hello club,

I have the Technivorm KBT-741 and I am looking at replacing the gold filter.

I was looking at the Kone filter by Able.

Does anyone here use the Kone filter for this coffee brewer that can confirm this filter will fit in the basket?

Thanks,

Greg

It fits. As long as you don't use more than  bout 60 grams of coffee you shouldn't have overflow issues. Didn't care for the taste.

Thanks Mike

Curious about the taste and that "mud" these type of filters leave

I went back and forth with it. It is less than a French press with the sludge. Just never dug the taste. It kinda took away some of the different notes in the bean. Just my opinion. I have one if you want it pm me.

frieling gold is the one you want. I cannot stand the Able/Kone it makes about the worst coffee imaginable IMO, and the price is just ridiculous. how the heck would you fit a pointed end ABLE KONE in the technovorm? I can't see how it would possibly fit...

Like I said, it barely fits. Anything over about 60 grams causes an overflow.

Ahh gotcha yeah it's not really designed for that though. I thought maybe they started making #4 filters or something.

Amazon FTW.

The Kone guy I forget his name now but he was here very early on peddling his 3x price filter when it first came out. He seemed like a nice guy but a little dishonest about his motivations (he said he wasn't into it for the money:D ). I watched their video for their ceramic brewer and while it sounds like a typical dreary hipster depressing 3rd wave coffee commercial, the thing is like $125 or something..hahaha. "I gouge thee for the love of coffee that doesn't taste good :D"- ABle Kone company motto.
