Here is my little Elli - the one that I found at the thrift store and when I saw it from across the store, I just about knocked a little old lady down to run to it.  I bought it for $6 (it was marked $10, but it was a green tag day), and I have about $200 in it for parts, portafilter, etc.  It's a sweet little espresso machine...

I love the style of that Elli - it looks like it came straight from the set of some 70's sci-fi movie.

Thanks Dan!  It has all the features (HX - heat exchange for steam wand, 3-way valve, large boiler) that I was looking for in an espresso machine.  All I have left to do is plum it in, and connect the drain tray up to the drain.  The only thing I don't like about it is there is minimal room between the portafilter and the drain tray for my espresso cups, so I removed the stainless top and set my cup down in the tray.  That is the only negative feedback I have about the Ellimatic.

It does have a funky retro profile, and I love the oversized steam dial!

I have a bunch of other steam toys that I need to get out and take pictures of.  I go backwards and forwards wrt my interest in coffee - sometimes I'm trying to improve my barista skills, sometime roasting, sometimes cupping (I need a lot of work here), and I'm starting to get back into barista mode and espresso.  When I'm off from work, I drink more espresso than drip, and with Christmas coming up I'll be visiting the Elli more often.  All the microfoam art in the other discussion is making me want to work on mine...

Thanks,
Woody

Six bucks for that? Holy crap, that is like the best find ever! It's worth much more than that in scrap metal alone.

Congratulations!

Not yet - I have what I think is the same problem as others; real estate in the kitchen.  I have a spot picked out, but it will take a little work on my part to rennovate.  And I haven't found an inline water filter yet.  I'm currently using distilled water and/or a Brita pitcher.

I dropped Capresso a note re:  the tall espresso shot glasses, the one with "legs."  Their response follows.  Skunked.

We do not sell espresso shot glasses.  These were props used by the photographer.  You should be able to find similar glasses at Crate-n-Barrel, Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens and Thins or Williams-Sonoma.

Thank you,
