Currently they are $96.

The only thing I can see breaking in 100 years is the filter and I think those are $7.

So I guess what you are saying is that they are built to last and the replacement parts are reasonably priced?

I'll get more into the build quality later but basically you are going to have to go out of your way to damage it.

That sounds good.

The only downside I can see is the initial purchase price ... would be great if they cost around 1/2 as much.

Do you know when retail establishments will carry them?

I don't know that.  They only just hit the US a couple weeks ago I think so we were lucky to be some of the first to see it.

If its been mentioned and I missed it sorry - curious to know what the material is for the clear outer part? I hear you saying it is built to last but I have unique skill in breaking things.

If it's that durable then it's probably Lexan.

I like it but at close to 100 dollars, hmm that's a tough sell.
