I like it, but it must be used inverted.  As previously said, it makes a very different AP cup.  I get a touch of sludge in the bottom -- Vario ground finer than I use for my 3-cup Hario vac with felt filter.  Yesterday, I opted for the paper filter for C+ Panama Esmeralda.  I still used the inverted method, and was a bit surprised by the lack of oil-laden froth coming out on initial inverted plunge.  The disk always gives almost a foam.

Yup, it's a keeper!

I did, and have run about 3 cups through it.  Very pleased so far and will most likely have to add this to the arsenal.  Now I see they have 2 different sizes, decisions...decisions. :)

I'm reluctantly ready to ship this off to Eric  :-\

It's been a fun little experiment, and as I said before it is definitely something I will be adding to the arsenal.  I do agree with John, it does take away some of the allure of an AP and morphs more into a cleaner FP.

I think it's too expensive...as is most everything in Coava's lineup.  Won't keep me from buying tho- addictions have their price.

Eric, PM me your addy and I'll get it in the mail to you.

The disk arrived today in good shape - I will give it a work out this weekend.  Do you guys think the disk will bring out all the smooth and sweet goodness promised by Starbucks® Natural Fusions Vanilla?

One thing I notice right away is the hole size - my hand fabricated device has smaller holes than this disc.  I suspect the new smaller hole version from Coava would be a close match.

Some first impressions - it works, but we already knew that.  The inverted method is not required - the vacuum in the plunger keeps the water from rushing out same as with a paper filter.  Sediment reminds me of a press pot cup, but we knew that too.  I like it but I like the one I made so this isn't a huge surprise for me.

Hi fellas, I caved in and bought one a few days ago. Really like this filter as opposed to paper  that always seem to leave a taste. No need to keep me on the tryout list. These filters rock :)

Who's got it next?

I think it was me.
However, I caved when the 15% off was offered,
and bought the set.  I use the AP everyday, so based on
early positive reports and my inability to wait for things I want,
it should be in my mailbox later this afternoon.

Long story short, please skip me... ;D

I was going to add my name to the list but, I too caved on the discount and feedback here. Got the disks last week and I have to say I really like them!

If anyone wants to try this let me know - till then, since there is no rush, I will keep it longer and experiment more with different new coffees I have on the way as well as log some head to head vs my home made device.
