I likely won't get both.

I voted neither  :)

I was told shots on the Export and PVL are very close.

If so what I see happening is you tuning up the Export, getting to love it, outgrowing the capacity, and getting the PVL.

So all roads lead there anyway but using the machine you already have eliminates the fear of making a wrong choice.

as long as you can sell them w/out losing money, why not get both?

also, so who is the other person that voted for the Conti? :-)

I voted neither...my '67 Cremina has ended my "upgrade-itis" as far as espresso. I have a mess of vacuum pots, ibriks, moka pots, pour over isms, kone, aeros, grinders, aarrrrgggggggg. If I didn't have a Cremina I'd find one...guess I like the complete hands on (no springs) approach but thats just me.

I had a 2-group La Cimbali for a while and it ate up counter space. Too big for home use unless you're running a coffee shop for the neighborhood? Lever machines are OK for those who find them interesting; too many limitations by my standards.

Ideally, for home use you'd find a nice Bunn ES-1A (or similar). For a commercial HX it's got a small footprint. There are other single-group machines that work well in the home, so set your mind on one of them.

He selected the PVL.. It has no limitations.

I could immediately tell you I choose PVL.

Thank you ... that is quite clear.

The other stuff ... well ... I won't ask for any more clarification.

Well someone else made the decision for me, the guy sold the PVL before I could get there.... and I already decided against the Conti

Good news is the parts for my La Pavoni and Sama came and they are both back together.  Now to work on my technique on the tao of them.

So the poll winner, neither was correct.
