What's the lastest on Aero Press?
« on: July 15, 2014, 09:21:33 AM »
I'm thinking I might be the last coffee person on the planet not to have dabbled in the Aero Press and that maybe it's time????

So....Aero press and fine filter?  Is that the most recent iteration?

I like it for iced coffee. I brew strong and directly over ice and it works for me better than other methods.

Otherwise I find the clever dripper makes a better cup and is jsut as easy to clean.

Love my Aeropress. I use the paper filters and brew inverted.
Its a great single cup brewer and produces a clean HOT cup of coffee.

I use it along with my pourovers and espresso machine pretty much equally.

I've been using the Espro for single cups for a while now.
It seems to me that it brews a great cup but misses nuances between beans????

This morning I tried cleaning the grounds off the top before pressing and it seemed to clarify some of the tastes, but I think I still need a better (but not pourover) method for single cups when I don't feel like heating up an espresso machine, which is usually the case for my first cup of the day.

Inverted Aero with a K-one metal filter is quite frequently my "no brainer 1/2 asleep first cup of the day brew"... :)
(while my Cremina warms up)

The finest filter?
I think there were several iterations of it....

And that is exactly the same time slot I'm looking to fill....

Aeropress is still the best coffee brewing implement in my arsenal. It's light, easily portable, versatile, small footprint, durable, and most important, makes an excellent cuppa joe.

No argument with personal preference. I do believe that playing with the other variables like grind and  immersion time
can produce a great brew with any of the current able filters or even the paper (in a pinch).

Reading this description, I think I would probably prefer the STANDARD.

I like my coffee with some chew to it....(as has been discussed many times in the past....)

Aha....thanks Chris.  Got it.
Sounds like I want the one they now call Standard, which is the .08.

That's what I use; my grinder is capable, and their cautionary statement about the fine being less durable scared me away.

Not sure. When I bought mine there were 2 different sizes and then they discontinued one of them. The one they discontinued is the one I like best. Go figure. Might be the .10 size if they still sell the .08.
