Still, I'm so sorry this happened. I feel your pain. :(

Cheri

Nah, you wanna feel my pain then send me money! >:D

It's always a crap shoot when you're dealing with unknown sellers. FWIW: I still am ahead of the game, even after loosing my butt on this one; I can always sell Larry's Sonofresco and break even. ;D

I did right away - figured there's no point in delaying the lecture. :-[ Honestly though, I'm way ahead of her on points; she bid a small fortune on a piece of unmarked Gustav Stickley that turned out to be a fake. I figure I've got some unspent capital remaining from that fiasco!

Thanks heaven for unspent capitol...

I could use a little of that, myself, from time to time.

Ohhh Gustav Stickley fake! I'm not surprised. I wouldn't have taken a chance on that. But hey, you racked some points. Now what? Are you gonna try and find another Belle?

The stretchers on the chair were wrong, other than that it would've passed insurance appraisal inspection.

One of the things that made it easier to deal with being taken on this scam is my, "Never fall in love with something 'til it's yours." philosophy. I liked the deal more than the machine itself, so I may or may not go for another Belle Epoque. You can be sure I'll find something interesting to waste my money one! ;D
