Confirmed?  Which model.

I read on CG from Jerry(the guy who put most of the info out there on this therm), that at least the cheaper of the two therms, WILL track while attached to the computer.  Said he got something like 2k datapoints in ~2min, before he was able to stop it.

I was also told, that while not mentioned in the manual, one must push "Enter" to start logging.

It only logs one channel, and you have to manually start it, yes. And when it's logging, you can't view the second channel.

Not what I expected, quite (alas), but it seems a darned good unit. I like the backlight too. And it's nicer to use for bean mass and air temp than using two meters.
