That's what I need! Maybe Patti will buy that for me for Christmas?? Ain't the rabbit hole GIGANTIC! 8)
-
Very cool! That is a monster of a burr set. What grinder is it out of I wonder?
-
I love the size of the burrs ... but me thinks it is a tad large for traveling.
:)

oh cool... sometime last yr shortly after the Pharos was introduced, I was conversing w/ a local who
sent me drawings of his prototype grinder w/ the largest burr set avail and been waiting to hear
back to go check out his prototype. I guess it's ready or close to ready for production. Have to see
if I can check it out in person...

It's cool but totally odd.
Gigantic burr one hand grinder..... Wacky man.

I read on H-B that the burrs will be purchased from Mazzer - a manual Robur sounds pretty neat to me. ;)

I don't think it's meant to be used with only one hand altho the title of this thread as well as the
pic of one hand on the site sorta indicate otherwise.
I have an invite to see it in person.
-
Is this intended for the Islamic market, where they cannot use their left hand to prepare or consume food? ??? Or was it a prop for The Fugitive?
-
Unless you're traveling in a motor home. It would fit right in.
LOL
Yeah ... and only if you have a 34 footer.
;D
-
Has anyone picked one of these up or gotten a chance to play with one yet?
-
I have been temped by this. The process for the modded Pharos isn't much better than a stock one.
It is just less noisy.
The hg-one has been plagued by static and need for wdt from what I can tell in the thread. I am done with wdt and hope to never do it again.
-
I used water to help with static when dealing with darker roasts for the pharos but now that I am back to FC+ beans I am in great shape.

Seems to owe a debt to the Versalab (http://www.versalab.com/server/coffee/grindernew.html).
I know watching one in action at Jim Schulman's apartment years back left me impressed with the value of grinding directly into the portafilter provided the grinder dropped it the way this particular one did.
Fascinating.
