Post by: az erik on January 18, 2013, 10:09:41 AM
Anyone else have or seen this? It's only when filling the steam boiler on my s1, sadly 6am every morning my house is 'abuzz' :(

I hear some buzz, but not like that.  No ideas, here.

Have you been to S1cafe.com?  Post that video over there, and you'll have several helpful people giving you insight.

Sounds like a solenoid valve chatter - if your machine has such a valve it's probably in need of descaling/cleaning.

Posted it there when I got the machine about 8 months ago. Everyone suggested removing everything and filling. So I did. Can't seem to find anything that's physically moving and the entire thing rattles so finding the source is quite a bit harder. Might have to tea it all apart again and try.

I'm sure Chris' would be glad to offer some advice, whether or not you bought it from them.

This is an excellant idea, and one I had never thought about. Thanks!
