Title: Hottop and chaff
Post by: foreRB on August 11, 2016, 09:02:36 AM
Hello all,
Just upgraded my roasting to a Hottop "B" model and after just after three roasts on Auto, I can already see way more nuance to the coffee. My question is about removing chaff from the chamber. I have a small compressor, and after removing the HT front cover I can blow down through the loading chute and push the chaff out, but that does make a mess. Does anyone have a clever idea how to capture the chaff for disposal instead of just letting it disperse?
Thanks...Russell

I used to remove the cover and barrel and just suck it out with a vacuum cleaner.  Super clean!

agreed. a small handheld vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment works well.

A shop vac will get most of it but there are little areas that seem to attract and collect chaff. Pulling the drum and using shop vac extentions works!
