Starbucks Barista Burr Grinder (Solis manufactured)
« on: August 16, 2010, 08:17:38 AM »
Starbucks got out of the hardware business about two years ago.  Baratza ended up with a ton of their stock on hand (Solis manufactured).  I bought two of them for $75 <?> each when they closed them out.  My boss and Big Mike are extremely satisified with them for pourover and vacpot.

They remain in stock at Baratza as 'refurbished' at $80. My guess is that they are excess stock; not refurbished.  It has been over two years since SBUX closed out the line.  I grabbed one for the Czarinita as the burr carriages (plastic) on her old Starbucks barista are now 6+ years old and they no longer adjust.

I used one of these in the RV until I got rid of the bus. Good grinder for anything but espresso, where the consistency of grind is more important.

I've since switched to a Saeco Titan that has fewer problems (less static for one). But I endorse the Baratza/Starbucks grinder at this price!
