So hello and Happy New Year! I have the 8 cup, but have yet to test it out. I don't have a scale or the fancy goose neck kettle. I have the bleached filters for now.

Try the cotter-pin-in-the-spout mod.  You'll like it.  In the video JohnF posted a few days ago in the Pourover Kettle thread, you can see he implemented it.  It's really the next best thing to a decent kettle.
