Cool !

The design is both artistic and "saves" the stain on the coffee table.

That would work great if you're protecting expensive furniture!

Now if they could work on a way to prevent the drippings from a sip from getting to the table.

On the website they have pictures of drips running down the side and being caught by the base. The inventor deliberately drank as sloppily as he could. Seemed to work like a charm,

I am not worried  about the end table.  I am worried about the white shirt/tie I dribble on.  I could retire on the money I have spent on dribbled shirts.  You would think I could find my lips after all these years.

What's your white shirt/tie doing on the coffee/end table?  Wouldn't it be easier just to put the shirt and tie somewhere else?   ;D

Good point bekeld.

I looked at it closely and saw it curved to the in at the bottom where the drippings are met with a mini tray to catch them.

They have put some thought into this product.

I always love two-word domain names that cybersquatters wouldn't have thought (to the extent that their actions are not fully automated) to buy up.  "floatingmug.com"

New entrepreneurial venture: buy up the most improbable two-word combos in anticipation of these kinds of witty products.

snickerdance.com
doomsnap.com
tuneshadow.com

Not sure what the products would look like; I'm just opting for improbable word combos.    ;)
