Last but not least my 2008-09 Magister ES60 > They are manufactured by Rancilio for Magister. It is essentially a rebadged S27.

I would be willing to bet Juanjo from CoffeeGeek did the refurb job on it.

It's a current production model so I doubt if anyone needed to do a restoration on it.

I've been researching and saving for a while, reading up on what machine would suit the next step.  Was looking to make one leap and then learn, learn, learn for a while.  Thus, PID, double boiler, and the grinder deal just fell into my lap.

PID was a requirement.  Need to be able to dial things around given how many different coffees come through here.  Figure many of these beans may need lower brew temps.  The PID reads the brew boiler temperature, so I'll need to put in Eric's mod to get closer to the brew temp.

Humbled by how much I have to learn about espresso, and that knowledge now stares back at me in shiny goodness.

Chad ... I double jealous ... that was the machine I wanted but did not have the funds to get.  Did you purchase it brand new or did you find a pre-owned machine?

Have you experimented with varying the temps as per coffee varietal or not?  What grinder are you upgrading from?

These E-61 groups make a mean shot ... as I'm sure you're finding out.

Enjoy my friend and congratulations.
