Just put the PID on my Gaggia Classic.

With steam control, Silvia wand, but haven't tuned in the OPV yet.

Nice looking setup! Now adjust the OPV; that'll make a huge difference in shot quality.

I have the two pieces you mentioned in the Gaggia thread, I have to find a proper gauge now.

When you get everything setup & adjusted, shoot some video of a shot being pulled & post it on YouTube. Espresso porn is a favorite of mine! ;D

Now that is a different looking machine rarebear ... what is it?

 :)

Fiorenzata Bricoletta
They call it The Retro Trash Can Look or a Brick ..
I have been pretty happy with it..
Some times I with it was a double boiler but I look at prices and I'm happy again :)

Looks like something Huggy Bear would drive.

Ah, there's my man Antonio Vargas!

I looked at the Bric a real long time before I decided to for the Salvatore E61 I have now.

How is the Salvatore E61 ?

I remember looking at them I think..
They are made in the USA right?
I was considering them but thought it was still kind of a new company..

Here is my new coffee bar.  I bought this Faima Smart for $23 2 years ago, and have been working on it off and on for that time.  It was sold at an commercial auction site as an parts machine.  And it was a mess, lots of parts missing, side pannels busted.  Roaches filled the electrical box.  I think it was in kitchen as greese was baked on.  it turns out the capacitor went out ont the pump and some machanic ripped it apart trying to find out what was busted.  The fill solinoid was missing, key pad busted off.  It was not a great deal, by the time I got all the parts I needed I could have bought it running. Everything was done by me, powder coated the frame, polished the stainless, rewelded the crackes in the side panels.  I build the cabnet it sits on, made the counter top, installed the sink, wired and ran the pipes.  Its nice to be in rural Ohio where there are no inspectors to deal with.  Had my first espresso this morning and it was good.  I did have to get a bigger pitcher, with that big steam wand milk went everywhere with the pitcher I use on the Silvia. One advice I will give out is do not buy an espresso machine to fix if parts are missing, they are hard to find.  I ended up using a company in Australia call Cafe Parts, they seemed to have all the parts for this machine.  On a side note I found out its not "our" kitchen becouse the wife said you are not going to put that in "my" kitchen.  You are not going to drill "my" countertops.  I ended up putting it in my basement.

Its a Rossi that I got from someone at the club.  It the first time I used it this morning also.  I think the burrs need some more breaking in.  They are new and I had a hard time getting the grind right.  Only around 1/2 pound of coffee been through the grinder.

Yea the rookie in me did not realize that acid would strip chrome.  I am going to live with it.  Some things I did not know cost me some money.  I soaked the heat coils under water to get the scale off, they grounded out with water.

Dry wet elements in a 300°F oven for two hours and they work just fine.

I tried that but they were still shorted, could have been bad all the time.
