Title: Problems With My Breville Smart Grinder
Post by: roastingnerd on February 20, 2016, 06:15:44 PM
My Smart grinder has started to get very loud when grinding.  A few roasts ago I under-roasted some beans and when the grinder was grinding them it seemed to be struggling, taking a long time.  Lately, with well roasted beans it sounds like a clutch is slipping with a ratatatat.  I called Breville service to ask if I could get some replacement burrs, but the service tech said they did not have replacement burrs.  That surprised me because I have read threads about the new version that said the burrs failed several times and Breville sent replacements.  I wonder if some dealer stocked the replacement burrs for the original version and still has some.

They seem to be inconsistent in their responses. I contacted Breville regarding replacement burrs as a result of a forum discussion. The technician emailed me back that burrs can be found here:

They list the upper burr assembly for $21.99, but I have no idea how to get the lower.....  >:(
