I paid ~13-14 for a set of scales from Ebay and they works great. Checked it with calibration weights and it was dead on. Here's the exact one I have. Used for measuring coffee when brewing.

I also have another set of scales I got from Ebay used for heavier weights. Not as accurate as the one above but it still works great.

http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/my-weigh-ultraship35.aspx

This is what I use, find it simple to use, up to 35 lbs.  Easy to switch to grams, pounds/ounces, pounds/tenths of pounds, kilograms.

Digital read-out lights up from behind.

Very good, quick service from Old Will.  I did not buy adapter.

Peter tried to swipe it but I caught him.  I would buy it again had he been successful.

Sir Peter

google doesn't always tell you how good things are... decent search tool once you know what to get....  I think Sirg's question was a good one... the scale I bought although decent and functional... probably isn't as good as the one you tried to swip from Bold|Java  ;D ;D

I found mine via google..... wishing I'd have asked.....

The one that Peter bought sounds like a good one.  There is another similar to Peter's on eBay ... "Just Pounds and Ounces" is the vendor.  It is a 35 pound postage scale and it is $24.00 shipping included with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty.  It comes with:

- Sensitivity +/- 0.1 ozs
- Easy Buttons: On / Tare, Off: Hold Feature
- Large LCD Display
- Measuring Units: Pounds / Ounces, Kilograms
- Fold-up Stand to Weigh Oversize Envelopes and Tubes
- Auto Off Feature to Save Battery Life
- A/C Adaptor and One 9-Volt Battery Included
- Dimensions (W x D x H): 8.0" x 2.75" x 8.0"
- Package Shipping Weight 5 pounds

I wanted to get this one however Mrs. mp says it was too big to keep around.

eBay Link

Hope this helps.

I have this exact scale..... the accuracy is ok, the problem, for me, is the scale decides when you have what you want weighed..... beeps and waits for about 30 seconds while freezing the reading....so you cannot pause in adding beans or you wait... drives me nuts

I think they call it a hold "feature".... to me it's a hold "bug" cause you can't turn that "feature" off.... be warned ;D

otherwise it's fine. and not that big

This is what I have, but that's not me in the pic.  I don't interface with anything, just have the platform and the display.  It's dead on up to 30lbs.  The state dept. of weights and measures certified it last month and the inspector told me it passed with flying colors.

I'm pretty happy with Melter products.

4oz at a time has to be brutal
