Looks great! I need a free day to come down and check out your shop.

The metal lathe sounds like a very fun tool!

Here it is finished but there is a gap under the handle :(
The base is not flat on top so I need to fix that and its finished..

This DESERT IRONWOOD BURL
was sold as EXHIBITION  GRADE but looks pretty Plain Jane for what it should be..
At least the price was good and is super hard..

There is a rough out of amboyna burl, it has lots of inclusions and will need to be filled with colored two part epoxy next before I go any farther..

I think the understated nature of the grain looks sharp.  Very nice work.

This is Pink Ivory a very hard wood and is a rare curly variety (Tiger Striped)
I still need to make steam knob and figurer out something for the top nut for a Cremina..

The close PF has two coats of finish all others have one..

Rarebear, nice work. I know they are going to look amazing with my brown Cremina.  Thank you so much and no problem about the time.  I understood from the get go that you would work on this project when you could.  I make jewelry in my spare time for family and friends.  One year I decided to sell some to co-workers at cost a couple of weeks before Christmas.  People started to ask me to change some aspect of a piece after they made a purchase or wanted matching accessories created. I did my best to please everyone but for a few weeks my fun non-stressful "hobby" became a tedious chore.  That was the first and the last time I did something like that.  So, please continue to take your time and work on the pieces when you can and want to :)

Rarebear let's put it this way.

I wish to help you and your cause.   I need a tamper for my gaggia classic? is it that tex makes.

Make it fancy, make it if materials you know are excellent and sturdy.

when you are ready let me know the price and ill send money and you ship.  No rush, just whenever.

Is that acceptable?

Ascholten,

I can do that, I have the SS and have plans to make one for myself..

I just ordered an indexer so I can flute the steam knob for Cammie and do a good job on the top nut as well..
I just wish I was getting more garage time these days..

yah dont we all wish we had more shop time lately.  It seems the weekends come and we barely have time to do the stuff we 'have' to do, ie the not fun stuff,  clean, fix this, move that, etc, and when that's done so is the weekend :x

Im sure you'll get time eventually.
