I can't say enough good things about my Skerton grinder. Excellent grind quality. There's a nice comparison of the Hario Skerton and the Mini Mill over at Prima Coffee.

I love my Skerton. I wouldn't sneeze at the mini, either. Do we have another group buy coming up? ;D

Mini Me!
I don't have a mini!

If I can find a distributor I will look into a group buy.

My guess is that Hario USA has this locked up, Edwin Martinez, Finca Vista Hermosa - owner.

If you work something out, I'd be in for a mini.

Wasn't there a Hario Skerton group buy some time ago?
I missed that one. But I would be interested in another Skerton group buy.
Currently using a Kyocera, and it has been an excellent grinder.
But would like to try the Skerton.

I did a couple of Hario group buys. The problem is that the minimum wholesale order used to be $350. Now the minimum order is $3000.

Gee ... so Jason ... you would only need to sell 100 units.
That should be no problem ... eh?

Caffe d'bolla is selling the Skerton at $26 with $7.75 shipping. Hurry along, probably closing them out at their cost.

Been out of town with BtR and families and the Hario Skerton grinder and Espro liter have been our go-to equipment.
The publicity around the LIDO is deserved but the Hario Skerton should not be overlooked. We have been using the Hario Skerton for pourovers as well as press pot grinds. It warrants consideration if you are looking for a road grinder. Lots of discussion about wobble; I get none. I get a very consistent grind (always some fines but that is a given on any grinder).
The Hario takes twice as long or longer to grind the same amount as a LIDO. 20g/min on the LIDO; 20g/2min on the Hario. My recommendation for intermittent road use is definitely the Hario but with a consistent use, the LIDO.
Hario: $38 at Prima: http://prima-coffee.com/grinder/hario-coffee-hand-grinder-skerton (http://prima-coffee.com/grinder/hario-coffee-hand-grinder-skerton)
LIDO: $165 at OE: http://www.orphanespresso.com/OE-LIDO-Hand-Coffee-Grinder_p_4682.html (http://www.orphanespresso.com/OE-LIDO-Hand-Coffee-Grinder_p_4682.html)

If you can acquire a prized piece of tin and own special safety shears (ask your children or grand children) you can modify the Skerton to improve ease, consistency, and uniformity of the grounds:

Note: this simple bearing mod pre-dates the nicer but pricier disk available from OE so no, I am not a copycat! ;D
