Bobby, I have had different knock-offs. I always go back to the Bodum as the standard for a press pot. I find that the screening component of the Bodum sets it apart. You need to bring the Pyrex to LakeCheddar and we can do a head-to-head this winter.
How I wish I could be there ... :-) The Pyrex's screen, compared to my 8-cup bodums (I got a few - one from $tarbucks, 2 from a surplus shop in the next city who is selling them for a bargain, around $4), is quite ok. Even comes with that nylon screen SM is selling, at no extra cost.
