First test drive.
It seems to produce a very consistent grind. Easy to adjust (easier than the hario). I also like that it has a cover for the beans because with the hario bean parts tend to jump out. Not so with the Grindripper. Also easy to assemble. What I like most about it is the shape. It fits the hand better than the hario. If this is a draw back, you can only grind about 25 grams of coffee at a time, but that fits well with the dripper for a single cup.
I got the espro yesterday, and the Grindripper showed up too... like Christmas almost.
So I decided to put them back to back this morning with some Injerto I roasted a few days ago.
Two variables in the comparison. Grinder (used my grindmaster for the press) and of course the grindripper has both a grinder and a dripper, so the brew method was different.
Both produced a good clean cup, no fines. The press seemed a little more silky/buttery probably due to the additional oils. Both made with 24 grams of coffee the 300 grams of water. The grindripper ~200 grams.
tomorrow I'll grind with a Bunn G3, a grindmaster, the Grindripper and Hario. Hopefully I can get some macros of the different grinds.
First impression.... great travel combo... wish it came with a cloth bag.
