Breville 800ESXL

I have been offered one of these machines.  Anyone have an opinion about them?  Double boiler, but will it pull a decent shot?

I have a strong aversion to anything new. Give it a few years to establish a reliability record and it might be a good machine to have.

By "offered" do you mean you can take the machine and play with it and find out if it'll pull a decent shot w/o it costing you much?

They are asking $200.  I'm not sure it's worth that.  Dual, I may have misread it.  It has been used twice.

I'd buy it for $200, just to pull it apart for a better look.

The 800 is a thermoblock machine machine with pressurized baskets.

"The thermoblock maintains the water at an ideal 204°F during extraction. While steaming, it reaches temperatures of over 250°F."

Find a Krups XP4000 series machine and you have found this machine.  Those are available for a lot less than $200.  - Pass.
