Beehouse spacer
« on: December 05, 2012, 10:14:08 AM »
Does anybody have a good spacer idea for the Beehouse?

It's teetering precariously on top of my cup... I need to buy/build a spacer to stabilize this thing. I don't want to use smaller cups.

Write JJRoaster and tell him what dimensions you want a cup to be.  He will toss one or create a ceramic spacer.

Grand Idea..a ceramic spacer with a hole just big enough that the "circle" under the Beehouse sits inside it but it's big enough to sit on top of large mugs.

I can't be the only one who needs one.....sending PM.

In the meantime, how about a pair of chopsticks?

I just tested it with pencils.. perfect!

I'm going to hunt down some good food safe sticks of some sort.

Perfect!

Glad it worked out and you now have an excuse to get Thai food for dinner.

Chopsticks are tapered. Do you think that will matter?

For some reason I always keep a couple of sets of commodity grade chopsticks around.

I'd think something like that would be perfect.  :)

I think I'll go to Office Max and see about some #1 pencils. Why have we settled for #2 pencils for so long?

Wouldn't a simple top for paper coffee cup work?

No..the Beehouse full of coffee is too heavy for that lid.

I was going to get a thin cutting board and Dremel a shape out of it but the chopstick idea is much easier and will work for me unless Wild Bill starts making ceramic spacers.

I just hate the thought of the chopsticks/pencils rolling off the cup. A quick look in our pantry showed many lids that would work and be more stable.
