Whatcha got to compare to THIS????
The base and the handle both arrived today.
I ordered the base to fit the Cremina and the Maximatic so I would get the most bang for my buck.

Included here is a tamper made by cannonfodder (Dave Stephens) to match my QM Anita Amboyna burl portafilter, steam, water knobs and brew handle. It's a reg barber base made for my VST baskets. This one is Narra wood which is the same source as Amboyna burl but not as expensive. Amboyna prices tripled since I got the previous pieces made.

Nice, Geoffrey. 

I was holding out for a wood handle of some sort until I saw these Italian made bases and....HAD to have one.
I went out on a limb and ordered a semi-flat base for this.
I've never had one, so I thought I'd try it.
