Does your group gasket need replacing?

I've been using these soft gaskets for ~6 months in my Gaggia's and I really like them: http://tinyurl.com/8-and-a-half-mm-group-gasket

I also have an 8 mm soft gasket in my Bunn ES-1A that's been in service for >1 year and shows no sign of leaking, so they seem to last OK. They require just the slightest nudge to seat the portafilter, unlike the hard gaskets that you have to tug hard to seat the PF.

Anyway, just something that makes coffee easier.

Hmm ... interesting ... so if water leaks into the portafilter then you need a new group gasket to make a proper seal and no more leak?

The one you link to ... that will fit all standard E61 groups?

Water leaking INTO the portafilter? Usually we're concerned about leaks OUT of the PF.

These gaskets will fit an E61 but I use them for Gaggia home machines: 8.5mm

For E61's I recommend the 8mm gasket.
