Has anyone had any experience with the Bodum Ibis electric kettle?

I see that they (Bodum USA http://tinyurl.com/23hqoqu) has it in RED, which just may mean I have to have it.

I have a black one I got from SM, we love it http://www.sweetmarias.com/sweetmarias/miscellaneous/cupping-supplies.html No red one. We have used it daily for a year and a half and would buy again. The PINO looks good also http://www.sweetmarias.com/sweetmarias/miscellaneous/cupping-supplies/pino-pro-digital-electric-kettle.html  Ray

Ah, good to know.  Today I'm going to mess around with the Braun and see if it's really kaput.  Then I'm probably gonna spring for an Ibis, but not from Sweet Marias.  (Since they aren't supporting the Coffeekids auction, I've decided to source anything I need elsewhere......)

They were invited, twice.  They are supportive of Coffee Kids but didn't respond this year.  Next year.

I use the Ibis regularly when cupping and really have no complaints. The PINO looks really nice, but considering one isn't on my radar unless the Ibis gives up the ghost.

I wish I hadn't seen that Pino kettle. Now I want one.

I have been thinking about adding a PID to my Melitta kettle. I don't think I could buy the parts for what it would cost to get the Pino.

that PINO is the kettle of my dreams as far as temp control... now we just need to get a silver smith to make long thin spouts to attach to the bottom...

http://www.amazon.com/PINO-ST-8706-Digital-Kettle-Pro/dp/B001HC54O2

Now, of course my Braun kettle is behaving her/hisself and I don't even need to replace it...
Oh well....better luck spending next time....

so at 200 deg it could be any where from 203 to 197 ??

.03 X 200 = 6.
That could even mean the temp could be from 194 to 206.....

Luckily I'm not in the market...

yes I guess you are right ... I was thinking that 3% of 200 is a 6 deg spread but it does say 3% + or -
