Rossi grinder

I have a Grindmaster grinder I bought from a member which, I believe, is a Rossi RR45. I have been told I can use the regulator ring from the auto version to get finer adjustments. Does anyone here know how to do this?

Also, how do you know when the burrs need replacing?

You just unscrew the upper burr holder and replace it with this:

While you have it apart run your fingernail against the burrs, if it scrapes off some nail then it's still sharp enough... burrs are only $40...

In order to save on shipping, I was going to get the burrs anyhow.

Do I need a new pin?

Is there a mod to convert it to doserless?

Looks like you'll need the pin too.

I converted mine to doserless and then converted it back.... if you are using it for espresso... my advice is to leave the doser.... less messy that way.

Here is a thread that shows how to make it doserless if you want to do that.....

I asked Espressoparts.

We are out of the collars, part RO6011, and do not expect more for about a week.

You would use: http://www.espressoparts.com/RO6011 and http://www.espressoparts.com/RO6003. The existing spring works for both the new and old version. The screws that hold your existing collar on to the upper burr carrier (or so I've heard) may not be quite long enough to reach through the new collar, but we do not have the ability to order the screws, so you'll need to source those at a hardware store. They are a 3 x 20mm metric screw with an Allen head and a fine pitch.

I think I'll leave the doser.
