Excess smoke from Behmor
« on: August 07, 2011, 10:03:08 AM »
Hey guys,

I've noticed over the past dozen or so roasts that my Behmor is producing more smoke during the roast and of course while cooling.
It's more then I have experienced in the 2 years I've owned it.

I routinely clean it with simple green and do my dry runs.
So I take it apart and clean the innards? If so which parts?

I opened the side panel up in the winter and didn't have much dust or debris.

I've replace the afterburners on three of my Behmors now.  On two of them the wires had broken and on one the ceramic had crumbeled.  I ordered three new one and have replace two, the third one I was able to repair.  The new ones have much longer spade lugs so the connection is in back of the afterburner compartment now and the connections are much easier to make.  You should see the wires glowing shortly after starting the "cool" cycle if the afterburner is working correctly.  This did solve my excessive smoke problems.
