New Baratza Encore Silicone Ring Madness

Trying to assemble my new Encore grinder. Cannot in any way install the black silicone gasket on the burr ring.

How?

Even f I do install it, is the poor design going to create numerous headaches down the road?

Is there a good alternative grinder that has an easier design? I can return the Encore.

Call them.  They'll walk you through it.

It's not a perfect fit, at least not until you get it fit right.  The two raised tabs on the burr ring fit with the two notches on the gasket.
