Title: IMPossible Bonavita Electric Kettle Road Show due to lack of interest
Post by: SJM on December 08, 2012, 01:50:23 PM
I can get this put together if anyone else is interested.
The Bonavita Electric Kettle is $49.00 at Amazon.

If five people are interested, it would cost $10.00 each to play.
If ten people ....$5.00 each....etc.
Plus shipping on to the next user...
I can do the math, so if more than five sign up, I will divide the $49 up by however many people sign up.

If you are interested at all, post on this thread, and I will see how we are doing in a week or so...
Does that sound right?
Heck, I will even try to learn how to make a video if this happens....

I'd get in, just to make this happen so that we can see Susan's attempt at video.   ;D   But this is the kettle I already own and love.

I use this at school--it's really efficient and fun to use.

Good luck with the Acadamy nominations next year!  ;)

Are you getting the one with the temp controls?

Personally I'm only interested in the plain electric one.
If someone else wants to take lead and get us the temp controlled one, I would sign up for the roadshow myself and let this one lapse.

Oh fiddle faddle.  The Variable Temp Bonavita Electric Kettle is about $90.
If there is more interest in that one, I can still be the lead on it.
Anyone interested in either or both should/can state their preferences and we can figure it out later.
I don't know what the max is that anyone is interested in putting into a roadshow, so I will just sit back now and take any/all comments on what model would interest people and at what "price point".

Seems to me that the plain electric would be $10 if we had 5 people;  $5. if we had 10.
And the variable would be $18 if we had 5 and $9 if we had 10.

I can figure that much out on my fingers;  after that I'll have to take off my socks....

So, John, looks like you and I are the only ones interested, so I am cancelling this and moving on.

Yeah...

I was thinking I'd be able to compare it to the Tak and offer the up sides of each to help people decide that might be on the fence or just to speak to curiosity in general of the differences.

Next time....

And I was gonna compare it to the Buono, but I guess most club members have "been there ....done that..."

Do you feel like you are the last person at the party?

What, again?????
An astrologer once told me my tendency to get where I am going later than most was due to so many of my planets being in retrograde when I was born.....As good an excuse as any I guess.....

I was in on the non-PID Bonavita Kettle roadshow and I did like it.  The PID Bonavita electric kettle interests me.

The PID Bonavita might be more tempting than I had thought....I find myself chosing the start temp on my pours out of the Buono at whatever ...203 one day, 205 another, 206 another.  Being able to set it and then assess it based on the different choices might be a more interesting experience.....Hmmmm....I may have to have a chat with Santa....

What, wait?  You move pretty fast for someone who's always late to the party.  Maybe it's because your catching up.  I feel like I'm about to be passed.  ;D

Yup, making up for lost time and having fun doing it !!!!

Did I mention the $5.00 3 cup Primula moka pot I picked up at Ross yesterday?  It made a positively mediocre cup this morning with the Black Tie

Is this the Black Tie from Deep Cello? That is a nice coffee.

Just redeemed myself by pulling a shot with it from the Classic and latte-ing it up!!!

I DID mention it, albeit subtly so I wouldn't cast aspersions on your character.

Oh my....guess subtle went right over my head.
But I think I'll make it up to myself and order the PID'd Bonavita kettle....
I have friends arriving from the Big Island on Friday and a new toy will keep us all entertained.

Is spinach in your teeth something like egg on your face?   ;D

Your attempt to do a traveling roadshow is to be commended.  Thanks for the effort.

We have 2000+ members.  I think 2nd traveling road shows are good ideas.

I will be glad to set one up at another time when something cool comes to market and there is interest.

I turns out that the psychology of the roadshow is more complicated than I had thought through.  Participants are gambling that they may win something for a small investment, but also gambling that they will end up paying to try it and then again to buy it if they like it but don't win it.  And some are willing to pay to try it out even when they may be pretty sure that they won't want one, just so they can reassure themselves they like what they have????  And I'm guessing there are lots more permutations than just those....

Okay....too much thinking....
