Actually there is a sale of PID at http://www.thermoworks.com/specials/liquidation_2015.html (http://www.thermoworks.com/specials/liquidation_2015.html)
CAL 3200 at 74$
Novus 1020 at 39$
plus transportation 3.99$
They are new and IMO it's a good deal , I just bought a CAL
I want to put one on my new/old Faema family.
Is there a difference between Thermocouple and RTD ? (I mean speed and precision) or lower price is ok (thermocouple) ?
Have a nice easter.

My understanding is that rtd is more precise and a type j or k is faster. I used a rtd on my machine and it works fine.

The 12v input makes it a bit awkward. Having a 120v-240v is easier to wire in.
-
Yes , I just see that...12 volts, I will put a small transfo.
-
The specs for the PID alimentation are:
12V - 24V (AC/DC) +/-20% 3VA Polarity not required
I suppose I can add a small transformer like this one 110V to 12V 60W Electronic Transformer Halogen Light Power Supply Converter #Z (ebay , 3$) , it's AC.
It will be better to have a 110 volts , but the PID is in UPS hands and I don't want to send it back from Canada
