Interesting Coffe/Tea Brewer?

My wife bought on of these for me...

It looks like it is really made for tea, but I wonder how it would work for coffee?  It has a removable filter basket in the lid.  I'll grab some pictures later.

The good news...  She found it at Goodwill, brand new, for $1.50

So even if it doesn't work for coffee we're not out $20!
