A bit expensive, but it's for the market and I wanted something with character that was functionally excellent, and non-digital. There is a minor problem with the unit I received, but their customer service is great and resolution will be painless. They have models with stainless scoops, but I wanted brass. This is a VERY nice unit. The scoop's capacity is perhaps 2.5 lbs green, or 1 lb dark roasted with a comfortable margin. The narrow end pours perfectly into any bag I have. The unit's stated four pound capacity is on account of the 1 and 2 lb weights that come with it -- fine if you're weighing something more dense than coffee. The sliding scale itself measures 16 oz. in quarter ounces. Pretty much perfect for my application.

I've tired of watching digits dance in an LCD; I wanted the go/no-go tip of a balance.

Heartily recommended.

I'd bought about 10 of the $5 scales from Amazon to give away.

3 or 4 of them have failed (including 1 that I used for about 3months).

Now I'm back to my trusty $12 scale from Harbor Freight which bounced
from the counter to the tile floor, broke the lid/tray, took its licking but still ticking.
