I just bought a used Rocky, dosser model, and was cleaning it up last night following the instructions on seattlecoffeegear, but my question is; when re-assembly is complete, should it be able to turn past the zero mark, or is that where is should stop?

"Zero point" doesn't refer to the "0" on the Rocky collar.  It refers to the point when you hear the burrs just beginning to touch.

1.  Turn the machine on.
2.  Don't put beans in.
3.  Very slowly, turn the collar so that your numbers are dropping.
4.  When the burrs just begin to chatter, that is your zero point.  Go no further.

Use that as a reference for your grinds.  Your zero point will not necessarily align with any other Rocky owner's.

Yes.  I had a Rocky for 1 week -- problems with the spring/post to catch the set point.  My zero point was around 4.
