I think I paid twice that for my Hario. I like the look of the Hario a little better but the functionality looks identical.

How's it compare to the Hario for speed to boiling?  My Bonavita is noticeably slower than my old Saeco.  I'm guessing it's 1000W vs. 1500W.

But $30 w/ free shipping, I may just buy a backup unit for my b'day present.
