That would depend on your consumption needs.  Are you planning to use it strictly on espresso ... if so stepless is desirable.  Are you planning to use it for grinding vacuum pot, drip or pour over ... then you probably do not want a stepless unless you need something  to test your patience.

It does help. thanks. will be mostly for espresso so I think stepless is best. Narrowed choice between Lelit and Ascaso mini now. Latter looks like a cool machine and has got a pretty good rep it seems.
