After two batches roasted - Thoughts on modding the Sonofresco;

    • Use a two-timer relay to control the frequency & duration of the time the burner is on.
    • Use a variac to control the blower speed.
    • PID controller to do a better job of determining the roast temp?
    • Replace the RTD in the exhaust flow with a thermocouple probe in the bean mass.

    These would eliminate the roast profiles function of the current electronics. The timer relay & PID could provide even greater fine-tuning (
almost infinitely tunable) of roast profiles - they just wouldn't be programmable.
