A used Rancilio Silvia with one of Jim Gallt's Watlow 935A PID kits installed. After I check it out and tune it, I'll be using it to do some baseline tests against two Gaggia Classics I'm modding and tuning - one will be PID'd, the other will be PID'd and have a 1.6 oz boiler extension.
I'm hoping the enlarged boiler will enable intra-shot temp stability similar to, or even better than, the Silvia. It'll all show up on the graphs produced as part of the data logging I'll be doing for all 3 machines.
It'll be awhile before I can get to the machines and do the testing - I'm shooting for mid-summer.
