I haven't posted here in a while, let alone an espresso pic...while looking at what others posted I noticed a recurring theme...most espresso set ups look too clean=:-) so I thought I'd share what a working kitchen looks like, with an espresso machine in the midst
FWIW, grinder isn't in the photo as it is on the end of the counter (sorry, no panorama view=:-)
This is my Vetrano HX, the machine I bought from Chris Coffee late last December. FWIW2, I'm thoroughly enjoying using this machine. It does everything right AFAIC IMNSHO Supply water is on the other side of the counter on the floor behind the sofa via a 5 gallon water bottle with a flow jet on top. I'm still using an RO system up in my barn to filter my well water with a carbon calcite cartridge to add back minerals which ends up being 50 PPM as checked with test strips
You'll notice a PF with a blind disk and a Pallo cleaning brush next to the machine on the right...I scrub the diffusion screen after every pull and back flush with straight water too after each shot, unless I'm entertaining then I'll wait til I finish all of my drinks. If anyone is wondering what the cardboard boxes with the green fruit in the background behind the Vetrano is, they're cases of papaya ripening, for our birds
Several months after owning/using this machine I called up Chris Coffee to discuss purchasing a drain kit for the drain pan. The lady there (on the phone) that handles a lot of their espresso sales talked me out of it stating unless I could run the drain striaght down from the drain pan into and through the counter top...some of the water wouldn't drain and stay in the pan. Made sense to me so most every night I wash the pan and cover when finishing the dinner dishes. Keeps it all nice and clean
Best,.
