Not-For-Espresso Grinder Search is On

I've got grinding for espresso covered with a Rancilio MD-50 (used on eBay, cleaned, new burrs).

Now I think it's time to retire the DeLonghi burr grinder and get a better one for my Yama, Chemex and French Press.

Any recommendations?

How much counter space are you willing to give up?

Hmmmm......good question....

As long as it doesn't have a bigger footprint than the MD-50 (which I use hopperless, by the way), I can fit it on the same table with the MD-50 and the Gaggia Dandy and move the lamp that sits there... 

That means about 11" deep and 6" wide...

The steps are too far apart for espresso, but I used this one for a few months and liked it a lot. Plus witrh Costco's liberal return policy you won't have to worry about buying another grinder.

I have a Capresso Infinity for sale. It does great for pour over, vac pot, press pot, drip etc...

I would agree w/ Tex about the Saeco Titan.  I've purchased a couple from Costco for customers and gave them a once over before passing them on.  They seem to be the same grinder as my old Solis Maestro (Now Barratza) other than cosmetics.  And if you can find them on sale at Costco, it's a no-brainer.

As far as grind quality, the KitchenAid Proline does just as well, but is easier to clean, less static, and very easy burr replacement.  The Titan-Maestro ilk seem to be more inclined to static problems and burr replacement means almost a total disassemble.

I recently bought a Saeco Titan and overall, I like it.  My only complaint (like Peter said) is that it has some minor static issues with the doser.  I use it for drip/press and it produces a very even, thorough grind.  I wouldn't recommend it as an espresso grinder, even though it may be "passable" as one...

I'm going with HCFU's Capresso Infinity.
As stated, this is for everything except espresso.
I'm looking forward to it....
