Jazzy like Coltrane or maybe more like Miles Davis?

Jazzy like bright horns, improv guitars, cymbals, and skadoobie do whopp bam bow.  8)

I bet if you try it you will see exactly what I'm saying.

I am concerned about both of us John.  I am feeling like I understand you.

Press pot (sound would be a "ka-plump," set in front of you)
Full
Heavy
Robust
Overwhelming in a good way
Chewy

Vacpot (sound would be a finger taken to a good piece of crystal, "rinnnnnnggg")"
Delivers what is there
More refined
Moves to a delicate cup
Easier to pick apart; flavors more segregated yet integrated - yes, I know that is contradictory
Clean

For sure!

Add the bright light Milo mentioned and I think it's a good explanation of the cup.

What utter drivel! Vac pot coffee is simply a cleaner cup because less fines end up in the cup. Some folks don't like vac pot because of this - usually the FP crowd, who seem to enjoy dregs in their cups?

Sure , just like great milk in espresso is nothing but fancy froo froo for the eyes.

Tex is back everybody!   ;)

I saw far too much of chef Gordon Ramsay this past two weeks! Bloody hell - bleep, bleep, bleep!

But for vac pots - the best I had was a Black & Decker electric model, that had a marvelous micro-screen filer. This vac pot made the cleanest cup of coffee I've ever had! Unfortunately, as soon as it began being popular, it was dropped from B&D's product lineup?

Tex, it's good to see you are feeling better.

Right?

Tex on Disney World:
Yeah, it's the same as a parking lot  carnival only it costs an extra $2,700.

Tex on the Gand Canyon:
Big freaking deal, there is a ditch that runs from my house all the way to Brenham and it's filled with blue bonnets....plus it leads straight to Blue Bell and there is ice cream at the end.

Tex on.... well, the rest is obvious, he feels better now.  ;D

with a lot of these pour-over techniques, your brew temps rise and fall a lot.

Yes, unless you employ the temp stability pour.tm   ;D

FYI Amazon has the 8-cup Yama's with shipping for like $23. Just got one to replace my Cory that the seal has gone south. So far I am super happy. I use the cory rod as well. Works great.
