Hottp updates KN-8828B-2K

The new model KN-8828B-2K+ will have completely new control panel, knobs instead of buttons, and two thermocouples. More description at the Hottop home page:

They will make upgrade kits available for existing 8828B-2K Hottops.

I wonder what parts the upgrade kit will include. I hope it includes the new thermocouples and heating element.

Randy G discussed this in a thread at homeroasters.org:

"There will be an entire kit available soon which includes everything you need to convert (roasters, not religions). Two of the new design thermocouples, a side cover to house the new control panel, the control panel, a new heating element, and a new roast chamber rear wall."

This is great news for home roasters. I don't believe my older 8828B is a candidate for upgrade but hottop has been listening.

Have they done anything about the airflow and heat leakage from the sides and top of the roaster. I have my own homemade mods but I would have redesigned the roast chamber too. Maybe that's next.
