Shurflo accumulator installation
« on: December 21, 2012, 08:21:06 AM »
I'm installing my accumulator tank this weekend. Looking at the instructions, I believe I need to use the upper right diagram. This will let me provide a steady water flow to my espresso machine and the Brew Express BEC-110 plumbed in coffee maker.

I'd thought of putting the accumulator inline, but this way is far simpler to rig under the counter, with one less line of tubing to account for.

Comments?

Not a comment, but a question; why is an accumulator necessary?  If either appliance can work on a straight water line, can't you simply tee off the line to both of them?

It would've cost ~$7000 to run fresh water & waste water lines to my coffee nook, so I use a water bottle with a Shurflo pump. The accumulator generates a steady 30 psi line pressure and stops the pump from pulsing on/off so often.

Another reason to use it is my HX espresso machine has real preinfusion (now turned off) and it requires a pressurized water line to function.
