I guess manufacturers of home roaster are listening to our cries for more control. FreshRoast is now offering a computer controlled SR700.

This is an interesting development...

I wonder if its worth jumping on this now or waiting?  I guess it depends on if the firmware is upgradeable or not.  I run a mac, but would have no problem running parallels or bootcamp to have this advantage with my roaster.

Any idea what the website is for the Freshroast Company?  I can't seem to find it anymore.

So I wrote the company and they told me that they are not going any further with the SR700 - it will only be PC compatible and the firmware is not upgradable.  However, they are working on a Bluetooth model with dedicated mobile software.

I was asked to do some beta testing on it.  I gave up and sent it back.  Couldn't get the software to function regardless of what I did on Windows 7.  Frustrating.

Thats good to know, I was very close to purchasing it until they insinuated that there would be no further development on it.  Any machine with this type of technology should have upgradeable firmware for future development.
