my new $300 grill roaster. 3-4lb batch sizes
« on: April 12, 2015, 07:16:00 PM »
I just finished building a grill roaster. Did the first 3 batches today, still learning to run it but loving the batch size and the $20,000 still sitting in my account. granted it lacks the awesomeness of a pro roaster but it's better than 3/4lb at a time. check it out at: http://paulscoffeeadventure.com/grill-roaster/

How do you cool the beans / chaff removal afterwards?

Aaron
As I have grown older, I have learned that pleasing everybody is impossible, but pissing everybody off is a piece of cake!

A simple box fan cooler. Since I have to roast outside the fan just blows through the beans. A little agitation and the chaff flies away

I have a simple grill thermometer installed in the side of the lid. It took 2-3 batches to figure it out, not so bad
