I am slowly restoring a 1974 La Pavoni. My model has the internal brass sleeve with the removable screen. This is good when it comes to cleaning the screen, but now i need to remove the sleeve in order to replace a gasket.

I am wondering if anyone in GCBC land has one of orphan espresso's flange socket wenches  (http://is.gd/v7JKn2) that they have made to remove the brass sleeves? If you have one, might you be willing to let me borrow it? I'm happy to pay shipping both ways.

I am also going to try and use the advice from this video (https://youtu.be/RQPaIPf0SsM) to make my own. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks,
Lyndon

Nevermind. The two-screws-between-wood method worked perfectly. Now it's a matter for waiting for the blessed gasket to arrive.

I restored one too.
I ended up going the same way you did, two screws in a piece of wood. It worked great.
