Pricing and Market Conditions 3-2-26
« on: March 23, 2026, 02:28:00 PM »
Hey all,

My primary African import partner just said that all their African coffee's have been delayed due to the war with Iran.  That, and high pressure on shippers due shipping space availability plus rising oil costs are going to kick coffee prices very hard very soon.

Another one of my import partners stated that their in-hand spot inventory is virtually depleted and they aren't likely to have much spot offering the remainder of 2026. They're already raising prices and things I looked at last week are gone.

Brian I am seeing similar results around the globe as well, not just Africa, and although iran is heating up and that most certainly is not helping issues.  the white genocide going on in Africa is really raising hell with much of anything coming out of that continent at the moment.  Ethiopians included.

Speaking on Eths,  not looking too snazzy for any decent boo's this year,  we are waiting for some pre shipment samples to see what it's looking like, and of course those are NO guarantee of what you will get, since so much can go wrong (or sometimes right) from there to your front porch.

ive had many folks wanting the boo's  but so far it's not coming up with anything that is really promising.

i do have a bali kintanami i snagged 4 bags of, really fruit bomb im thinking smelling it thru the bag, i just roasted about 10 minutes ago so hopefully that'll fill in our fruit fix but yah, its going to be challenging.

brazil, the standard goto for, good coffee at reasonable prices, ie the one you use to blend in your really good stuff with. they are having their problems with weather and prices shot up.... costa rica is a fallback and so far is not doing too bad but when the price of the 'cheap stuff' shot up  60 percent in a year, just ugh.

Hang in there, see what makes it's way to us is the only thing we can do here and keep our fingers crossed.
