Capresso Drip Coffeemaker recipe
« on: November 07, 2013, 06:49:16 PM »
I have an old Capresso 500 10 cup drip coffeemaker that makes nice coffee and brews at a high enough temperature but I have not used it in many years and forgot the recipe for a full pot. I am going to a meeting on Sunday and have to make coffee for the group and this is the easiest and most efficient way to serve everyone. French Press or Vac Pots on the road without knowing what is available to clean up is not in the cards.

I think I was using 60 gm per liter but a full pot would then require about 85 gm of coffee per ~1.4 liter pot. That seems like a lot of coffee to stuff into the filter holder. Will this work? I'm too lazy and cheap to try it with coffee first.

Just make a liter at a time - if the coffee blooms much 60g is close to capacity for that brewer's basket.

Thanks Eric

That's what I was thinking too. 60 gm per liter seems OK - I am bringing a Colombian Planadas and Burundi Kayanza about 4 days post-roast that I hope work well with the Capresso.

TV and Bonavita get the press lately, but the old MT500 can hang right in there too.

The Capresso works nicely if you preheat the carafe. I will see on Sunday morning.

Thanks for the help.
