Hello everyone:
Ive been away as you have seen for the past oh two weeks or so.
Ive been in and out of the hospital and a treatment center for Thyroid issues that spiraled into other problems.
For anyone who is not aware, having a bad Thyroid can wreck you, as I found out.
The good news is I do not have cancer.
The .. well. don't know what to call it news... we are not sure what is going on either what caused it or why.
My thyroid is all over the place. Normally as one ages, it starts to not work correctly, it turns either over active, or under active, and they give you a pill and you are pretty good for the rest of your life. Mine is bouncing all over and they are not sure why, so taking a pill is not going to help much. But it's still wreaking havoc with everything else.
You can be feeling GREAT one minute, the world is in your hand and you think you are 20 years old again, then 10 minutes later it's like someone smacked you with a hammer, and took a shop vac and just sucked your soul out of you along with vitality and anything else that keeps you going, you feel drained, like you just need to curl up and find a corner to go hibernate in. Throw a migraine on top of this and it's a fun day.
We ruled out poisons, I did not accidentally get poisoned, or food illness. It does not rule out any sort of bio - chemical issues though. Like did I come across some bad pharmaceutical or concoction in standing water? Just as an example. They can check for biologicals like little heebie jeebies growing in you that shouldn't be there but a chemical concoction that might hit you in as low as a part or two per billion, not so easy. When it gets to stuff like that, it's very difficult to just 'find' something. They can't just look at blood and go, oh hey look he got ribodiaxoflomycocksafloppinanterovagoverialmanofibrulation, let's chelate and he's fine. They have to have an idea WHAT to look for and then go see if it is there or not. There are probably billions of chemical concoctions that could mess with one and you'd never know it. I am NOT saying this is what happened, I am saying, we simply don't know. I think that is actually worse than when you DO know, because you can't plan or fix it then. There may be other issues at work here as well, but the thyroid can cover them up or cause them. High Cholesterol? thyroid can cause that, this or that out of whack, well your thyroid can cause that... unfortunately, unlike say a rotten tooth or something, you can't just say, yank it out, because it's made itself too important to live without unless you absolutely have to, and it's a mess afterwards.
anyways, sorry for getting long winded.
My orders are backed up a few weeks.
People are pissed, I get it.
I am going to spend the rest of today going thru and trying to catch up and get these orders OUT if not by the end of today, realistically it looks like Ill take a drive down to a UPS center saturday morning and drop a load of boxes up.
Moving forward.
In my time laying in bed, not being able or allowed to do much, I DID have time to think and reflect..... A LOT of time.
There are a lot of pepple in life who will use you, they see that you are willing to 'give' of yourself and they will squeeze you dry. Aaron can you do this, Aaron, can you do that, We are having this event, can you give us coffee, Can you help fix this, IM going on vacation, can you watch the fort while im gone, can you fix my tractor, can you..... on and on and on... and THEN there are the money moochers....you get the idea.
Now when YOU get sick, or YOU need help with something, or YOU need a lending hand or are down, all of the sudden these people are busy, they don't have the time for you... but get better soon, because they MISS YOU. (More like miss your handouts)
One has to learn to say NO to these people and move them out of your life, or these people will use you until there is nothing left to use, then moan because you can't give them any more. I have done that. or shall I say, am in the process.
I have been spending so much time helping others and whatnot that I let myself wear down and got myself sick, I didn't take care of the important things, like ME, and take care of what is important to me as well, which is the Green Coffee Buying Club.
This club, is basically my family. This website and the people here have been with me for oh god, I think we are close to 20 years now. I think it was back in 06 when GCBC was formed and I joined shortly thereafter. I have not been here for you like I should have been, that is MY bad. I got so tied up in other life crap that I found myself not able to tend to the people who DO matter. Let's be pragmatic... at the end of the day, this club is a source of income for me, and once someone sends me money I am OBLIGATED to serve them, in the capacity that the money was intended to do !!! We can be friends and family or whatever you want to call it, but at the end of the day, I have a financial and moral obligation to take care of you as you expected me to when you sent $$ and said, I want 10 lbs of this or that. People want answers, NOT excuses, and I have not been too good on the answers. That is on ME, and I accept full responsibility for it.
Plan of action:
I am not going anywhere or doing anything for the rest of the year that is going to require me to leave the house unless I HAVE TO. I've already told everyone, count me OUT !! I need time to get back on my feet. The house is a wreck, and my business. quite frankly... is a wreck. I need to FIX IT.
I will be spending the rest of 24 getting things put back together, get the website caught up, get the new coffee's cupped, and hopefully rolling a new thing or two out for 25.
The first step, is catching up with all the orders that are on backorder, that will happen TODAY / TONIGHT and the packages WILL be on their way by tomorrow morning at the latest.
I will go thru the posts and everything and try to answer all the questions and requests for refund etc that I come across as I get to them, rest assured I did NOT run off with your money, and if you asked for a refund, it will be there, by the end of today. I understand, and I am truly sorry for all of this.
I really feel bad and this is a mess and I need to fix it, and that is what I am going to be doing ... well.... for the rest of the year, so that come 25 we are lean mean and ready to roar with good coffee in what hopefully will be a much better year than the 24 shit show has been.

It's time for me to get to work here, AT HOME, IN my house, NOT GOING ANYWHERE, except maybe to the store for more shipping supplies.
